Seventh and Eighth grade GT students participated in the CoCo BEST Robotics competition (Collin County-Boosting Engineering Science and Technology).  Bennie the Botcat Robot placed fourth. Botcat, Inc. placed third in the Overall BEST Award for 2011.

BEST is a six-weeks competition culminating with Game Day on Saturday, October 15 at Prosper High School.  Besides learning the engineering process, building the robot from limited materials, and competing on Game Day, the students also have to “market” their robot.  Part of the marketing team’s responsibility is to present the robot to other audiences and also promote teamwork through school spirit and participation.
